I was following the series up to this point. This point is where the authors need to do a little more digging. A simple reading of the Fathers of the first century will reveal that Christ was always taught as being God. Islam did not come along for another 400 years. Also, Roman Catholicism did not come for 900 years. Protestantism did not come for 1400 years. Orthodox Christianity retains the faith of the 1st century - of the Holy Apostles.
